/// The PaulStretch Sessions recordings come from the birth of pieces all resulting from sound manipulations generated by the PaulStretch audio software which allows the infinite extension of any source of sound.

/// This causes the genesis of more or less continuous waves / flows of sound such as distended and fluctuating sound waves. Some modulations can be made directly on the interface of the software itself, which can be downloaded for free. The interface is minimalist and quite simple but still, allows the creation of endless audio streams. So the pieces can be extended / stretched over several minutes to even years...which leaves a vague notion of infinity. This is both attractive and dizzying. You just have to command, tune and launch the application and it generates this infinite sound ...but what will the computer do ...? will this start an eternal and permanent calculation, make the computer run indefinitely with an explosion / implosion eventually ...? Honestly, I didn’t try it out and was content with tracks stretched out over 1 hour 30 minutes at the most.
In this PSS session, the longest piece lasts about 25 minutes and composes a monotonous symphony that I had originally linked to the (somptuous) one composed by french artists Yves Klein and Pierre Henry in the late 50’s.

-'PSS-Br 21 417 460' is based on a treatment / extension of a preexisting piece by OITS, called Birthright Remix01 (initially a rework from IndieRock band LittleKid)

-'PSS-En 16 970 302 / PSS-Fl 34 900 368 / PSS-No 12 927' come from sounds recorded and played by LaurentLetourmy/LumièresNoires as part of another artistic project we are carrying out together: spoken words, flute improvisations & various noises, flute lapping, squeak/larsen of spinning chair...

/// Thus were born those extended improvisations which, today, form this distended, random ensemble with cinematographic and metaphorical atmospheres.
