The Unison Collection.

The aim of this project was to create a collection of recordings assembled according to specific themes: saturation, experimentation, piano, slow motion ... thus was born a set of recordings that fit into this will.
The pieces are assembled by thematic and form unstable sets of a predefined and coherent whole.
Each theme gives rise to the development of a release as an Ep.

The sleeve art insures the coherence of the ensemble by giving it a bucolic and pastoral dimension through a fine selection of floral visuals.

The purpose was to pair tracks following specific thematics, and release them monthly from October 2019 until March 2020.

The collection is composed of several recordings released as Eps:

Already published:
- Unison EP01- HAUfiG groups 4 tunes installing cinematic envelopes and deep atmospheres.
- Unison EP02- EXTerA pairs pieces on the thematic of addition, increase etc...
- Unison EP03- SATurE presents 4 tracks working on delicate saturated soundscapes.
- Unison EP04- EXPriM assembles 3 tracks developing an experimental approach of sound, texture & environment.
- Unison EP05- SLOweD consists in 5 tunes experiencing sonic slow-motion.

Pianostok I and Pianostok II were improvised live in Stockholm (SW) on a Steinway & sons 1/2 Grand Piano in Aug 2019 .
Pianolill was improvised live in Lille (F) on an Upright Rameau Piano in Sept 2019.

The tunes were mixed & edited in September 2019 at New Blood Studios in Paris by OITS.

All piano impros & treatments by O.
+ exerpts of movie dialogs from 1972's 'César et Rosalie' by Claude Sautet, 1974's 'Le mouton enragé' by Michel Deville and 1969's 'Ma nuit chez Maud' by Eric Rohmer.

PIAwoR was mastered by Jos Smolders at EARlabs studios in Tilburg (NL) in November 2019.

Floral pictures were shot by hOP in Lyr-Nösund, Bohuslan, Sweden in August 2019.

Thanks to Jos for the mastering, Dag & Karin, Eric & Nathalie for hosting the piano sessions, Mackie & GB for the plain technique!
