This album presents covers and reworks of tracks we dig for years (among many others) of Etienne Daho, Chemical Brothers, Dif Juz, David Sylvian and Grouper.
That was also a nice opportunity to sing (!) few of them, as we are more focused, these days, on instrumental & ambient soundscapes...

These tunes were put out mainly on Youtube all along the years and we decided recently to assemble them into a digital-only album.

So here it is for the new year 2019, our favorite tracks for the pleasure of your ears!

- 'Aperture' is a rework of 'Ouverture' by french artist Etienne Daho. This song was written by Etienne Daho/les Valentins, recorded on the album 'Corps et Ames', and released in 2000 on Virgin Records.

- 'Headache' and 'I'm Clean Now' were written by Liz Harris, recorded on 'Paradise Valley', and released in 2016 on Yellow Electric records.

- The cover of 'Darkest Dreaming' is pairing the melody+lyrics by David Sylvian and the music by Benoit Pioulard & Ant’lrd. The original song was written by David Sylvian + Djivan Gasparyan, recorded on the album 'Dead Bees on a Cake' and released in 1999 on Virgin Records. 'Vacant' was written by Benoit Pioulard & Antl'rd, recorded on the album 'Deck Amber' and released in 2018 on Sounds et al.

- 'Strr' is a rework of 'Star Guitar' by Chemical Brothers. This track was written by Tom Rowlands & Ed Simons, recorded on the album 'Come with us', and released in 2002 on Freestyle Dust and Astralwerks Records.

- 'Living Room' was written by Liz Harris, recorded on the album 'The Man Who Died On His Boat', and released in 2013 on Kranky records.

- ThLD is a rework of 'The Last Day' by Dif Juz. This song was written by D.Curtis/R.Thomas/G.Bromley/A.Curtis, recorded on the album 'Extractions' and released in 1985 on 4AD Records.

Olive played the guitars, the tapes, the synth, the echoes, the voices & the percussions.

All the tracks were recorded and mixed over the 2 last years mainly at New Blood studio in Paris by Olive.
The tracks were mastered by Warren Hildebrand in New York at FIF/OT studios in January 2019.

The sleeve art was edited and manipulated by hOP. It's based on the beautiful visuals by Lumière brothers shot in 1896, featuring the amazing modern dancer Papinta, the Flame Dancer performing the Serpentine Dance. That was filmed in B/W and then colored by hand, frame by frame.
